Nick Brown

Nick Brown

General Manager

Nick joined AVM Services in April 2013 as General Manager following managerial roles in both private and public sector. Nick has worked for, with and collaborated on projects for a range of NHS England Trusts including the Royal Free, Royal London, Moorefields Eye Hospital, and Leads Teaching Hospital Trust.

Nick’s experience and expertise includes NHS Trust HR policies and Health Technical Memoranda including HTM 01-01, HTM 01-06, HTM01- 05 and associated standards.

Stephen McIntyre

Stephen McIntyre

Client Sales & Engagement Manager

Stephen was appointed as the Client Sales & Engagement Manager in 2019.

Stephen has worked in the infection control/validation sector for circa-20 years and has been employed by various manufacturers, in various roles. Most notably, Stephen was Southern Area Service Manager for Getinge UK which is part of the Getinge Group, the largest infection control equipment manufacturer globally.

Elaine Pullar

Customer Accounts Manager

Elaine has worked for AVM Services since its conception in January 1991 and was one of the original five members. As AVM Services grew, and the number of staff increased, Elaine developed into a business growth role and is now Customer Accounts Manager, supporting the Client Sales Engagement Manager as AVM continues to expand and develop.

Elaine has taken advantage of AVM training courses and is a qualified CP(D), AP(D) and quality auditor which enables her to confidently engage with potential clients and to address concerns and quality issues with existing clients.

Alfred Belford

Training Delivery Coordinator

Alfred joined AVM Services in December 2017, coming in as a Bank Administrator from Addenbrookes Hospital. After gaining valuable experience in the Authorising Engineering Team for a couple of years, Alfred was reassigned to the Training Team and is now Training Delivery Coordinator.

Prior to AVM Services, Alfred was Head of Admin and HR at the Gambia National Petroleum Company and also lectured diploma courses at the University of The Gambia.

Howard Walker

Head of AP Services

Howard has worked in the Decontamination Healthcare sector since 1980 and joined AVM in 2021 to establish the new Authorised Person (Decontamination) service.

Much of Howard’s career has been spent with Ipswich Hospital NHS Trust working in Medical Device Repair & as Quality Manager within Sterile Services.

Howard is also a longstanding member of the Chartered Member Institute of Decontamination Sciences having served at Branch & Regional level, a member of the Central Sterilising Club and is registered on the Academy for Healthcare Scientists (AHCS).

Ian Finlayson

Ian Finlayson

Associate Decontamination Consultant

Ian has decades of experience (since 1975) within the decontamination sector and held Sterile Services Manager and Compliance Manager roles for several years. In 2003, Ian became the Trust Decontamination Advisor at Guys’ & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust and held this position for seven years. Following several years at Brighton & Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust as their Head of Decontamination, Ian became Associate Decontamination Consultant for AVM Services in 2014.

Luke Mason

Technical Specialist

Luke has worked in the healthcare sector for nearly ten years, becoming a service engineer in decontamination as a key member of the servicing, validations and breakdown team. In 2017, Luke made the move to AVM services.

Luke provides management and technical expertise for AVMs clients. Using diagnostic techniques to aid reactive maintenance, he liaises with Decontamination Leads and site managers to resolve technical and operational problems. He ensures that critical equipment is in good working order and fit for purpose, providing advice about the condition and operational status of plant and equipment.

Luke is also involved in delivering accredited decontamination training and education programmes nationally within the healthcare sector. He supports the development of training strategies and plans, ensuring that content is inclusive, engaging and accessible to the target audience.

Keith Miller

Lead Trainer

Keith has over 30 years working in the decontamination sector and joined AVM in 2010 after successful spells at major manufacturers Getinge and MMM Medical Equipment. Keith has many years experience in servicing, validation and commissioning of autoclaves and washer disinfectors and has spanned both public and private sectors, including Life Sciences.

Keith now heads up the AVM Training Department, providing Operator and User training on decontamination equipment for SSD staff. Training is often carried out at the clients premises, however, some courses such as Competent Person training can be undertaken ato our purpose built training centre at MMM Medical Equipment where we can cater for Autoclave, washer disinfector and endoscope washer disinfector training.

Authorising Engineer (Decontamination)

Tracey has been an AE(D) with AVM Services since 2002 and provides advice and guidance on decontamination requirements (HTM 00, HTM 01-01, HTM 01-06) to the NHS and private healthcare organisations.

Prior to becoming an authorising engineer, Tracey’s career included roles as Sterile Services Manager and Consultant at a number of hospitals as well as Trust-wide responsibility for sterilisation/disinfection.

Susan Woodbridge

Susan Woodbridge

Service Coordinator

Susan has been with AVM Services since 2004 and is something of a lynchpin, with a key role being the coordination and management of engineer’s schedules at customer sites. As well as being responsible for AVM resource management and finances, Susan is one of our most client-facing people, organising site engineer visits and procurement of laboratory supplies for client sites among other essential services.

Hayley Stephenson

Technical Specialist

Hayley is a Neuroscience graduate with a degree from Edinburgh University and joined AVM Services in January 2023. Hayley has previous experience in environmental monitoring and was a microbiologist at a UKAS-accredited lab. AVM were keen to bring Hayley into the team for her microbiology expertise. Hayley’s role now includes working as an Authorised Person (Decontamination) as well as being instrumental in the production of our online decontamination training courses.

Anissa Lo

Anissa Lo

Administrator/Quality Manager

Anissa has an extensive background in supply chain management and logistics, focussing heavily on customer liaison, project management and system integration. AVM Services now benefit from these skills as Anissa manages the report auditing system within AVM services, along with producing and analysing data to improve customer experiences and services. Joining us in March 2023, Anissa is also responsible for client contract renewals and third-party service provider renewals.

In December 2023, Jacob arrived at the AVM doorstep with a passion for data, education, and people-pleasing. These qualities, along with his many years of managerial experience, now serve him in his daily adventures where invoicing, booking, and liaising with our clients is just the tip of the iceberg.
