Important Information about COVID-19
With lockdown measures now easing in most parts of the UK, we feel that resuming our training activities is now appropriate. This will be carried out whilst adhering to the relevant guidance on social distancing. It may be necessary to limit the number of candidates in order to achieve satisfactory social distancing.
Due to space limitations, practical assessments may need to be limited to 2 candidates maximum. This will require some extra time to be added to the courses to accommodate this. All courses will be carried out following satisfactory risk assessments for the venues where training is taking place this includes classroom and areas where practical assessments will take place.
A health declaration will need to be emailed to the instructor prior to each daily session commencing. A proposed schedule for off-site courses at MMM Medical Equipment will be published in the near future.
These measures should ensure that we can deliver good quality tuition whilst still keeping everyone safe. We look forward to receiving your enquiries.
Validation Department Statement
AVM Services recognise that the recent Covid-19 situation may pose a risk to the service we provide to our customers.
We would like to reassure all our customers that our engineering team will do there upmost to accommodate all validation/testing and breakdowns during this time, however staffing levels may be affected by illness or self-isolation and this will impact on the service team strength. This in turn may have an impact on our ability to keep up with all aspects of our scheduled work. It may become necessary to delay or reschedule some validation work but we will work with you to arrange a mutual suitable alternative date.
During this difficult period, breakdowns calls will receive priority to keep all machines running at full capacity. If you have a particular issue, please let us know.
If a machine cannot be tested due to the unavailability of resources and there is a concern about the machines compliance i.e. the equipment cannot be tested within the allowed two week testing window, AVM would advise contacting your AE (D) for additional advice should you need to.
Authorising Engineer Statement
In light of the developments around Covid-19 and the governments advice regarding non-essential travel and social distancing AVM Services have made the decision to postpone all AE(D) site visits scheduled for the coming weeks – until at least w/b 15th June 2020 – this covers the 12 week shielding period identified yesterday.
We have taken advice from our Trust and IHEEM on this matter and recognise that several NHS facilities are also asking contractors and suppliers to not make any visits to their sites over the coming weeks.
Both CQC and JAG are deferring visits / accreditations during this period of time.
The AE(D)s will still be working to review reports during this period of time but we would ask that hard copy reports are NOT sent to the AVM office as we cannot guarantee that the post room will continue to work during this time and we would not want these documents to go astray. If reports can be sent electronically then that will be perfectly acceptable and you will receive electronic confirmation that they are satisfactory.
We are in the process of identifying additional ways in which we may be able to support you during this time such as conference calls etc and we will review government advice as it becomes available and communicate any necessary changes to you.
