Work goes on for many of the AVM Services staff despite the Covid-19 virus lockdown. We thought that now would be a good time to look back at some past events…

IDSc Annual Conference

Several of AVM’s Authorising Engineers (Decon) attended last year’s (2019) IDSc Annual Conference from the 2nd to 4th December. The itinery covered a range of interesting subjects including responsibilities, goverance and role of the Authorised Engineer in the field of robotic surgery and Gas Monitoring in Sterilization and high level Disinfection. Thank you to Richard Warburton (CTO & General Counsel, ChemDAQ Inc) for leading that session.

The IDSc website still has details of the conference including the programme and speakers in case this of interest to you next year.

IHEEM Authorising Engineer Conference

Several of our authoring engineers (Decon) attended the IHEEM conference in March last year and the event covered a number of really interesting topics including:

  • Who should appoint an Authorising Engineer and Authorised Persons?
  • Can there be more than one Duty Holder?
  • AE[W], friend or foe or both?!
  • AE Registers are they fit for purpose?
  • The Role of an Authorising Engineer
  • Sterile Services in Gaza

This years event has been delayed until July with IHEEM posting the following message on the 2020 IHEEM Conference page:

“Due to the ongoing developments with Coronavirus (COVID-19) the Institute has taken the unprecedented decision to defer next week’s Authorising Engineering Conference from 18th March 2020 to Wednesday 8th July 2020.”

We look forward to attending later in the summer and fingers crossed it is able to go ahead.
